» Who We Are

Michelle Goldhaber, Founder and Executive Director
Michelle has a background in social work, mediation, multi-religious ministry and wilderness based experiential education.  She has recently completed a Fulbright scholarship in Ukraine in which she focused on Jewish-Ukrainian relations, as well as ethnic relations in Ukraine in general. She has a Bachelors degree in “Music and Comparative Spirituality” from Boston University, a Masters in Social Work from Simmons School for Social Work and a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School.  She has lived in Israel, Ukraine and traveled extensively.  She has a passion for the creative arts and the outdoors.  Michelle grew up Jewish in America and attributes her sensitivity to cultural diversity to her own positive and challenging experiences as a child.

Emine Ziyatdinova, Ukraine Program Assistant Manager
Emine has a background in sociology and is completing her masters now at the Ivan Franko National University in L’viv, Ukraine with a focus on ethnic minorities and human rights.  She has extensive experience organizing multicultural programs and has a passion for photojournalism as well.  Emine comes from a Crimean Tatar background and is therefore sensitive to issues of pluralism and cultural sensitivity in Ukraine.

Alex McPherson, Web designer
Alex is an innovative and entrepreneurial web designer and programmer.  He is also a program manager at Thompson Island Outward Bound.  His facilitation and synthesizing skills are highly applicable when converting ideas and images into actual web pages.

Marylynn Goldhaber, Treasurer
Marylynn has a background in social work and in grassroots organization.  She is highly skilled and proficient at financial systems and record-keeping.  She is also deeply committed to the goals of Seven Stones and has herself advocated for multi-religious awareness and cultural sensitivity.

Board of Directors
We are very lucky to have a highly professional and experienced Board of Directors.  Our board is committed or our work and mission and is a source of ongoing support, advice and wisdom.

Gerald Goldhaber, Board Member
Gerald is an entrepreneur and former professor of Communication at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  He owns his own company, Goldhaber Research Associates, which conducts public opinion polls and research on product liability and warning labels.  Gerald is often called upon to testify as an expert witness in lawsuits dealing with product liability.  Gerald has a passion for business management and for travel.  He also actively supports the arts.

Josette Goldish, Board Member

Josette has had extensive experience in financial administration and marketing research.  Furthermore, she has held leadership positions as a volunteer in several non-profit organizations.  Currently she is a researcher of Caribbean Jewish history and has recently published a book entitled “Once Jews: Stories of Caribbean Sephardim.” She is a strong believer in the importance of pluralism and any programs that enhance religious and cultural tolerance.

William Liteplo, Board Member
William is a mechanical engineer with a background in organizational management.  He also has experience in computer programming.  William has been very active in Ukrainian scouting organizations and advises program leaders in all stages of course execution.

Interns
We are very happy to be working with an excellent and highly motivated and skilled team of student interns.  Their enthusiasm and thoroughness is encouraging and they have been a great source of energy and assistance.
Caritas Collective: Daniel Nickerson, Natasha Mehta, David Frank, Ashish Chopra, Stephanie Antoniou, Andrew Smolenski
Caritas Collective is a gratis non-profit consulting group in the Boston area, whose mission it is to provide pro-bono assistance to non-profits in exchange for valuable experience and development as consultants. They have been working with Seven Stones since December 2008.

Thank you for visiting us!  Our website is still in progress, and we appreciate your patience as we continue ironing things out! We are gearing up for our 3rd summer course:  "Перехресні Стежки: At the Crossroads" to take place in the Ukrainian mountains this July.  Backpack, explore your identity and learn to support others on the path.  Course will be in English.
